Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 Live Updates: The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs staged a demonstration at Parliament's Makar Dwar on Thursday to protest against the July 21 Congress sit-in near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence over exam paper leaks.

A day earlier, the BJP alleged that Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi, was running away from the duties of the Opposition and instead "only attempting to create a ruckus".

LoP Gandhi, along with other senior Congress leaders and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, had staged a sit-in near PM Modi's residence on Tuesday over the lathi charge on anti-NEET leak protesters, before being briefly detained by the police.

Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 Live: PM Modi Harmed Future Of Youth The Most: Congress

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi making a pitch for the welfare of youth, the Congress on Thursday claimed that the PM was "rattled" and alleged that he had harmed the future of the youth the most.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also alleged that Modi had allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of India's education system, and protected every person responsible for it.

"You are the one who has harmed the future of our youth the most. You allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of our education system - and protected every person responsible for it," Gandhi said on X.

"The students' demands are clear: 1. Sack Dharmendra Pradhan. 2. Apologise to the students. 3. Take action against those who assaulted them," the former Congress chief said.

Randeep Surjewala Gives Adjournment Notice In Rajya Sabha, Seeks Discussion On NEET Leak

Congress MP Randeep Surjewala on Thursday gave a notice for the suspension of all business in the Rajya Sabha to discuss the NEET paper leak, police action against protesting students and education reforms.

"I hereby give notice under Rule 267 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) of my intention to move the following motion for the suspension of business listed for July 23, 2026.

"That this House do suspend Zero Hour and relevant rules relating to Question Hour and other businesses of the day for an immediate discussion on the systemic crisis in India's examination system," Surjewala said in his notice.

He said it is particularly important in light of the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 following allegations of an organised paper-leak network, which affected more than 22 lakh candidates, and repeated paper leaks across at least 65 recruitment examinations, which exposed continuing systemic failures despite statutory safeguards.
