Try to compete with yourself, break your own records: PM Modi
As part of the second edition of ''Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0'' Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with a total of 2,000 students, parents and teachers in the national capital today.
With less than two months to go for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams, PM Modi discussed ways to handle the exam stress with students in an interactive session at the Talkatora Stadium, wherein for the first time, students from across the country will get a chance to participate in the event.
The participants also include college students from 24 states and Union Territories, according to a statement of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. 675 students from across the country have reached Delhi for the event.
Here are the highlights of PM Modi's session with students:
Our learning cannot be reduced to exams only. Our education must equip us to face various challenges of life as well, the Prime minister added
Jairpeet Singh, student based in Tehran, Iran asked PM on the need on encouraging students constantly and how constant encouragement makes children very happy.
Compare yourself with your old record, you competition your records, you break your records, you will never have the chance to drown in a trough of despair if you break your records yourself: PM
Please reach out to your child during exams, results and be a positive force on them: PM
I would again encourage parents to be a factor of motivation and encouragement for your child. Only when you take it in spirit and encourage your child, does a 60% holder move towards 70 or 80%. If you only criticize and scold your child for not getting 90%, you will demotivate your child to start believing that they are incapable. This will take their grades further down towards 40% (from 60).
Clarity of thought and conviction are essential: PM Modi
Learn Time Management: PM
"One thing that is most important for all of us is time management. Time is our own, and we decide what to do with our time and how to get things done. That is totally in your control. We all have the same 24 hours. But those who manage their time well, set themselves apart. You have to prioritize from time to time. Those who master the art of time management, they seem to go through life effortlessly. Time management is most important. If we have 10 things to do, sometimes we need to know which are the 6 or 7 that need priority," PM Narendra Modi
Pay Attention To Your Qualities: PM Modi
When something challenges you, you must pay attention to what qualities of your came forth during that challenge. Those are the ones you need to work on. When it comes to exams, our focus should never be on marks. It should be on acquiring knowledge and understanding the subject. You will score marks if that is taken care of: PM Modi
We work hard, but we all go through some setbacks in life. You work 17 hours a day, how do you keep yourself motivated? What keeps a mother motivated and energized through the day, doing so many things tirelessly? She does it for her family and their wellbeing. Similarly, I truly consider all my fellow countrymen as my family. That is what keeps me encouraged and motivated.
Do exams refine us? Or are they just a hindrance to us?: PM
I sincerely believe that anything that challenges us, polishes us too. If there is nothing to test us, then we become complacent. There must always be something to challenge us, says PM Modi
We must be true to ourselves: PM Modi
While aiming big in life is good, but don't get so carried away by it that your dreams remain dreams, and you become too old just thinking about it: PM
"We must understand ourselves. We must be true to ourselves, questions ourselves frequently to see how we stand periodically as compared to our ambitions and dreams in life. If you see yourself far from it, then you know what to do. You must break your dreams into phases and give it a time frame to achieve. You must cross one milestone at a time. Climb from a smaller peak to a larger one," the Prime Minister added.
Technology should lead to expansion of the mind: PM Is he a PUBG gamer? I will not say exposure to technology is a bad thing for students. It is good that students are getting acquainted with new technology. Technology should lead to expansion of the mind and as a means to innovate: PM
People say Modi has been very aspirations, I want to have a 1.25 hundred crore aspirations of the 100 crore countrymen. We should highlight those aspirations that the country runs. The burden of expectations should not dabana. We must prove ourselves to meet expectations: PM
Pebam Nila Kumari from Manipur asked, "How can parents de-stress themselves during the exams of students?"
"Society should be aspirational, not negative. If people have expectations from us, it shows that they have some trust in us. We have to make ourselves capable, not get bogged down by expectations. We must take it positively," PM Modi
"You should understand that you are sitting with the family and a family member is talking to you. My aim is not to teach any of the students, parents, teachers," PM Modi said.
"I am not here to give advice to teachers, parents or students. But I am here to feel and be one amongst you all."
Exams are important in life, but one should not be stressed by it. Abhi nahi to kabhi nahi, should not be the only motto. Ask yourselves if this an exam of your life or is it just an exam for a particular grade like Class 10 or 12? Once you know the answer to this, your pressure will reduce: PM Modi
"This morning our former defence minister George Fernandes passed away, My respects to him," PM Modi
