Delhi Liquor Policy Case LIVE: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia have been cleared of all charges in the corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. The court, while pronouncing the judgment, said that it did not find any criminal conspiracy and that the CBI's allegations "lacked substance".
According to the court, the prosecution "failed" to prove its case.

On Friday morning Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and his right-hand man, Manish Sisodia, were cleared of corruption and conspiracy charges linked to the Delhi liquor excise policy case.
"There was no overarching conspiracy or criminal intent in the policy," the court said, also criticising the Central Bureau of Investigation for trying to build a 'case' on the back of claims by other suspects.
Outside the court Kejriwal broke down and cried on camera, remembering his arrest in March 2024. "I always used to say that the truth is with us. A sitting Chief Minister was dragged out of his home and thrown into jail. Mud was flung at us," he told reporters.

After a Delhi court cleared former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia in the alleged liquor policy corruption case, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strongly welcomed the decision and said the verdict proved that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had been honest from the beginning.
He said that the case had no real foundation and was driven by politics.
While speaking to NDTV, Mann said, "We have been saying that all of this is a political case and it has no basis..."
Mann pointed out that several senior AAP leaders were jailed during the investigation. "The top five leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party were put behind bars, and our decision-making team was put behind bars. But we knew that God was with us. And today when the decision was made, people's prayers also had a big impact."
Expressing gratitude, he said, "The people who prayed for us, and those who prayed for us, we are very thankful to them. And Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Vijay Nair, all our leaders have been released. Congratulations to them too."
CBI To Move Delhi High Court Challenging Trial Court's Clean Chit To Arvind Kejriwal
The CBI has decided to appeal in the Delhi High Court against the judgement of the trial court giving a clean chit to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia immediately since several aspects of investigation have "either been ignored or not considered adequately".

Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said that her husband was "falsely sent to jail for the sake of power".
"We were falsely accused, framed, and tortured. But truth prevailed. The corruption was the result of the lust for power. You decide whose corruption was involved," he said.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh hit out at the BJP and demanded its apology after a Delhi court cleared Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia of all charges in the liquor policy case.
"The court has acquitted our leaders. It has been proven that a dangerous conspirator is ruling over the country's power. Who hatched a conspiracy to defame the country's most popular honest Chief Minister, the most capable honest Education Minister, and the finest honest party, apologise to the country. Our leaders were tortured in jail," he wrote on X.

Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia wrote "Satyamev Jayate (Truth alone triumphs)" in a post on X, shortly after a court cleared him all charges in connection with the liquor policy case.
"Today, once again, I feel proud of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ji's visionary thinking and the Constitution he crafted. Despite all the attempts by PM Modi's party and all their agencies to prove us dishonest, today it has been proven that Arvind Kejriwal - Manish Sisodia are staunchly honest," he said.

CBI tried to construct a narrative of conspiracy but the prosecution's theory is mere conjecture. If such conduct is allowed, it would be a grave violation of the Constitutional principles.
The conduct where an accused is granted pardon and then made an approver, his statements used to fill the gaps in the investigation/narrative and make additional people accused is wrong.
