Two army jawans were killed while a third is missing after their check-post was hit by an avalanche in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, which has faced heavy snowfall over the last two days.
According to Pithoragarh DM Sushil Kumar, the mishap took place yesterday at the Sialak border checkpost, which was manned by jawans of the Kumaon Scouts regiment.
"Of the eight jawans who were posted at the checkpost on the Indo-Nepal border, two were killed while five others were rescued safely.
