A man fired a bullet inside an ATM in Hyderabad after a woman refused to hand over the cash
Hyderabad:
A young woman in Hyderabad decided to stop at an ATM in the heart of the city this morning on her way to work. Just as she had finished using the machine, a man, his face covered, accosted her and asked her to hand over the cash and jewellery. When she didn't, he pulled out a gun and fired at the wall.
Srilalitha, 24, shocked, shared her PIN number with him before he grabbed her gold chain, earrings, mobile phone and her ATM card, and raced away on a two-wheeler.
Less than an hour later, the woman, working with a software firm, received a text message informing her that Rs. 2,500 had been withdrawn from her account.
Police say that CCTV footage and the SMS sent after he used Srilalitha's card will help locate him.
