People in Haryana can soon SMS their crime-related complaints to the police.
A pilot project, started in two districts, will soon be extended to other districts to facilitate people to send their information regarding various crimes through SMS to the Haryana police.
"The facility of sending information regarding various crimes through SMS to the Police was started as pilot project in Panchkula and Gurgaon districts. Now this facility will be extended to other districts as well," Haryana Director General of Police RS Dalal said.
He said this while reviewing the law and order and crime control situation in Haryana at a state-level meeting of police officers here.
Dalal said a Rs 1.50 crore scheme to modernise the Forensic Science Laboratory at Madhuban has been approved by the state government. Once implemented, this laboratory will become the most advanced in the entire country, he said.
DGP asked the police officers to prepare a systematic programme to nab absconding law-breakers and told them to give priority to make Haryana a crime-free state.
