Salman Khan has been supporting many individuals through his Being Human foundation, which has funded healthcare and education initiatives since 2007. One such recipient is Reena Raju from Karnataka, who has undergone two heart transplants. Recently, she spoke about the support she received from the actor during a particularly difficult phase of her life.

In a recent interaction, Reena spoke about Salman Khan's support while recalling her long association with him. Speaking to RJ Sowjanya on the Voice of Bengaluru podcast, she said, "First of all, let me say, I love him with all my three hearts and my soul."
Elaborating on her first interaction with Salman Khan, she said, "When I was not well, and before my first heart transplant, I had his number." She added that despite being a superstar, he responded promptly. "I told him I'm going through a heart transplant. He was shooting in Australia at that time. He called on the night of my transplant and spoke to us for almost two hours. He was very kind to my family and encouraged me to go through it."
Reena further said that although she is not in regular touch with Salman Khan, he remembered her when she contacted him again two years later to inform him that she had begun a new journey.
She went on to start her own foundation, Light a Life, and said that the actor has always been protective yet encouraging towards her.
Reena underwent her second heart transplant in 2018, which was also when she met Salman Khan for the first time in Mumbai at his home. Recalling the meeting, she said that what was meant to be a brief interaction extended into meaningful time together. "He has kindness written all over him. We spent the whole night partying at his house, singing and dancing," she shared.
She added, "Four months after my second transplant, I had diabetes and all kinds of medical issues, but I was having a good time. He took us to the Race 3 sets, and we spent the whole day there. He gifted me a Being Human white bicycle because he remembered that I had messaged him about it long ago."
Calling Salman Khan extremely "rare to find," Reena said he genuinely cared for her well-being. Even today, whenever she messages him regarding issues related to her post-transplant health, the actor continues to encourage her with the "nicest things."
