Actor Vivek Oberoi reflected on the cultural and spiritual significance of the story, writing, "They say time erodes everything, but time itself bows to Him. He walked the forests so we could find our way. He fought the darkness so we could live in the light. Beyond the bow and the battlefield lies the heart of a King who chose duty over desire. LORD RAMA. It is time to take our greatest truth to the world. A story of love, a lesson in sacrifice, and a legacy of righteousness. This is the Soul of Bharat, projected for the universe to see."

Allu Sirish also expressed excitement about the film, writing, "I've read and watched Ramayan many times. Can't wait to witness this epic all over again on the big screen! A whole new generations of Indians will experience Lord Rama thru this film. All the best to the whole cast & crew behind this magnum opus. #Ramayana"

The Teaser

The teaser offers early glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, showcasing moments ranging from his coronation to his exile in the forests of Panchavati.

The visuals present the character with composure and grace. It also briefly teases Yash as Ravana towards the end.

Ahead of the teaser launch, Alia Bhatt shared a video message urging audiences to support the project.

She said, "The Ramayana unit is going to be out tomorrow. It is the unit called the Rama unit. I'm going to post it on my social media, so please go out there and support it. Ranbir has done such a beautiful job and I can't wait for you guys to see it. It's absolutely fabulous."

Background

The film is being mounted on a large scale, with producer Namit Malhotra previously stating that the combined budget for both parts is over Rs 4,000 crore.

Speaking about the project, he said, "When we set out to make this six or seven years ago, people thought I was a lunatic because no Indian film comes close to this scale. Put simply, the budget will be around $500 million for both parts combined, which is over Rs 4,000 crore." He added, "We're making the largest film in the world for the greatest epic that deserves to be seen globally. And yet, I believe we're doing it more efficiently than some of the biggest Hollywood films. We're not being irresponsible-we're being ambitious, but grounded."

The music for the film brings together AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Speaking about the collaboration, Rahman said, "It's terrifying for both of us. We're scoring something so iconic and so important to the world. So in the promo, I think he had a soundscape; then I took that and added the Sanskrit words at the end and everything. What's complicated is that we're taking something so epic, which every Indian knows, and we have to give them something new. We have to give something to the world-from India to the world."

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey in key roles.

Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first installment scheduled for a worldwide release in October 2026 ahead of Diwali, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.
