The 77th Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles on Septmeber 14. Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the show. Bargatze built his name with Netflix specials like The Tennessee Kid and Nate Bargatze: Hello World. He rose to fame with his stint as the host of Saturday Night Live back in 2023 and then showed up the following year during the show's landmark 50th season.
This year, Apple TV+ hit Severance, led the race with massive 27 nods. HBO Max's The Penguin followed with 24 nominations, while The Studio and The White Lotus each landed 23.
The Netflix hit series Adolescence has swept six awards, including Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Series for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. The child actor Owen Cooper, who is now 15, scripted history as the youngest male winner ever of an Emmy Award.
The HBO Max production The Pitt took home three trophies, including Outstanding Series, Supporting Actress and Lead Actor in a drama series.
In the category of comedy series, Apple TV + hit The Studio, HBO Max production Hacks dominated with four and two wins respectively.
