Deepika Padukone will not be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra 2. The actor's spokesperson has denied recent reports claiming that she was set to play a key role in the upcoming film.
"All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue," the spokesperson told NDTV.
A recent report by Pinkvilla had claimed that Ayan and his team were keen to cast Deepika as Amruta in the next chapter of the Astraverse. However, her team has now clarified that she has no association with the project.
Ranbir Kapoor is expected to return as Shiva in Brahmastra 2. The actor is reportedly set to finish shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 2 by January 2027.
He will then have a short preparation period before beginning work on Brahmastra 2 in 2027.
Released in 2022, Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva introduced Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva, a young man who discovers his connection with the powerful Astras.
Alia Bhatt played Isha, while Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna also played a key role in the film. The first part ended with the mystery around Dev, setting up the story for the sequel.
The film marked the beginning of Ayan Mukerji's planned Astraverse and became one of the most talked-about Indian fantasy films in recent years.
