In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Feroze Varun Gandhi of the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected from the Sultanpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He won with 4,10,348 votes defeating Pawan Pandey of the Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 1,78,902 votes.
In the 2009 general elections, Dr Sanjay Singh of the Indian National Congress won the Sultanpur constituency by securing 3,00,411 votes (42.44 per cent of the total votes polled in the constituency) , defeating Mohammad Tahir Khan of the Bahujan Samaj Party who received 2,01,632 votes (28.48 per cent).
There are five assembly seats under the Sultanpur constituency: Isauli, Sultanpur, Sultanpur Sadar, Lambhua and Kadipur.
Voting for the Sultanpur constituency was conducted in the sixth phase of general elections 2019 on May 12.
For the 2019 general elections, Maneka Gandhi from the Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting against Dr Sanjay Singh of the Indian National Congress, and Chandra Bhadra Singh of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
