The Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency will go to polls on April 23, in the third phase of 2019 general election for the 17th Lok Sabha. The Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency consists of Kanjirappally, Poonjar, Thiruvalla, Ranni, Aranmula, Konni and Adoor legislative seats. As against 1317265 total electors in the last election, a total of 1340193 electors have been registered from the constituency this time. The voter turnout was 65.81 % in the last election.

Two-time MP Anto Antony is contesting for the third time in a row for the Pathanamthitta seat. Anto Antony will be contesting with a Congress ticket. In the 2014 election, Anto Antony had brought to the Congress party by garnering 41.19% of the total votes.

The incumbent MP Anto Antony holds a graduate degree from St. Thomas College, Palai.

Congress' nearest rival was Adv. Peelipose Thomas, who was contesting as an independent candidate. While both the winning party and runner up got more than 3 lakh votes, the winning party received 56191 votes.

11 nominations were filed to contest from the Pathanamthitta constituency, however only 8 candidates are contesting for the seat.

Two independent candidates-- Ratheesh Choorakodu, Veena V-are also contesting for the Pathanamthitta seat.

While CPI (M) has fielded Veena George and Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated K.Surendran as its MP candidate from the Pathanamthitta constituency.
