About West Delhi

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma was elected from West Delhi on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 6,51,395 votes. His closest opponent was Jarnail Singh from the AAP who received 3,82,809 votes. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma won the constituency by a margin of 2,68,586 votes.

In the 2009 general elections, the West Delhi seat was won by Mahabal Mishra on a Congress ticket. West Delhi constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.

The West Delhi parliamentary constituency consists of 10 Vidhan Sabha seats: Madipur, Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Janakpuri, Vikaspuri, Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Matiala and Najafgarh.

Voting for the West Delhi seat was concluded in the sixth phase of elections on May 12.

In the 2019 general elections, the BJP fielded Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, the Congress party's candidate is Mahabal Mishra and the AAP has fielded Balbir Singh Jakhar.
