About South Delhi

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ramesh Bidhuri was elected from South Delhi on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 4,97,980 votes. His closest opponent was Col. Devinder  Sehrawat from the AAP who received 3,90,980 votes. Ramesh Bidhuri won the constituency by a margin of 1,07,000 votes.

In the 2009 general elections, the South Delhi seat was won by Ramesh Kumar on a Congress ticket. In 2004, South Delhi seat was won by Vijay Kumar Malhotra of BJP and his runner up was RK Anand of Congress party.

The South Delhi parliamentary constituency consists of 10 Vidhan Sabha seats: Bijwasan, Palam, Mehrauli, Chhatarpur, Deoli, Ambedkar Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad and Badarpur.

Voting for the South Delhi seat was concluded in the sixth phase of elections on May 12.

In the 2019 general elections, the BJP fielded Ramesh Bidhuri, the Congress party's candidate is Vejender Singh and the AAP has fielded Raghav Chadha.
