No crony capitalism says billionaire Gautam Adani, wants Modi for PM

New Delhi: Gautam Adani, the billionaire businessman who faces allegations that he is funding the Narendra Modi campaign, today rebutted those charges.

In an interview to NDTV, the head of the Gujarat-based Adani Enterprises says that he said that far from funding Mr Modi, he is not funding any political parties in this election.

'It was a conscious decision of our board" he said.

When asked whether Mr Modi was a friend, he said he has no personal equations with Mr Modi, only a professional one between a corporate and a Chief Minister.

The Aam Admi Party has released pictures showing Mr Modi emerging from an Adani corporate jet.

Mr Adani said that Mr Modi and other BJP leaders use his planes, but they are paid for by the party and the Gujarat government.

But when asked who he would like to see as Prime Minister, he said the country needed strong, decisive leadership.

When asked whether he felt Mr Modi fit the bill, he endorsed the BJP's choice for Prime Minister saying "Modi has provided leadership in Gujarat, he can provide it at India level as well'
