About Narsapuram

In 2014 general elections, Gokaraju Ganga Raju of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency defeating Vanka Ravindranath of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSR Congress Party or YSRCP) with a margin of 85,351 votes. The BJP candidate secured 5,40,306 votes while his nearest rival from YSRCP bagged 4,54,955 votes.

Before 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won the elections in 1999. Kanumuri Bapiraju, the Indian National Congress candidate who won the elections in 2009, was placed third in 2014 general elections. Telugu Desam Party had won the seat four times in 1980s and 90s.

Narasapuram parliamentary constituency consists of seven assembly segments, they are: Achanta, Palakol, Narasapuram, Bhimavaram, Undi, Tanuku, and Tadepalligudem

Konidela Nagababu is a popular character actor in Telugu films and brother of Janasena Party founder Pawan Kalyan and actor-politician Chiranjeevi. Mr Kalyan is contesting in Bhimavaram assembly constituency - which comes under the Narasapuram parliamentary constituency-- in the state assembly elections which being held simultaneously with the general elections 2019.
