Live : Kadapa Assembly Election 2023

The Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly segments-Badvel, Kadapa, Pulivendla, Kamalapuram, Jammalamaduggu, Proddatur, Mydukur-among which Badvel assembly seat is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category. The constituency voted on April 11, in the first phase of 17th Lok Sabha election.

Among the 15 contestants for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat are sitting MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and Congress candidate Gundlakunta Sreeramulu. Mr Reddy will contest as YSR Congress candidate.

YSR Congress party had won the seat in 2014 by garnering 6,71,983 votes. The TDP candidate Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy came in the second spot by a margin of 1,90,323 votes.

In the 16th Lok Sabha election, held in 2014 more than 6 thousand votes were registered under NOTA.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which has never won a term in the Kadapa constituency has fielded Sriramachandra Singareddy.

Five contenders have registered their nominations as independent candidates.

CPI, which has been elected five times to the Lok Sabha from this constituency, has given the ticket to Gujjula Eswaraiah to contest in the 17th general election.

Other party candidates contesting for the Kadapa seat are Ameen Peeran (Ambedkar National Congress), Putha Lakshmi Reddy (Rajyadhikara Party), Pedakala Varalakshmi (Pyramid Party of India), C S N Reddy (Navarang Congress Party) and Anna Sivachandra Reddy (Anna YSR Congress Party).
