NCERT New Class 9 Textbooks: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will conduct a webinar to introduce the new Class 9 textbooks, scheduled to be released between April 10 and 15. The webinar aims to provide teachers, parents, and school principals with insights into the textbook structure, pedagogical approach, and classroom implementation.

The live programme will be held daily from April 6 to April 20, from 10:30 am to 12 pm. It will cover all subjects, including Arts Education, Skill Education, Physical Education & Well-being, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and others.

Participants will be able to ask questions during the webinar, which will be addressed by subject experts. The council has encouraged teachers and other stakeholders to attend and benefit from the sessions.

The new Class 9 textbooks have been developed in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.

NCERT has also been granted "institution deemed to be a university under the distinct category" status, allowing it to independently offer degree programmes ranging from diplomas to doctoral levels. The move comes three years after it was first proposed, following a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on March 30 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

The decision applies to NCERT headquarters in Delhi as well as its six constituent institutions.
