Traya Study Of 1.66 Lakh Indian Men Finds Dandruff Behind 54% Of Hair Loss Cases

Every August, Hair Loss Awareness Month asks India's men to do something they have historically struggled with: talk about hair loss honestly. To break the silence. To move past the resignation.

For most men, that resignation has a script. The water in his city. The helmet. And when all else fails, the one that ends the conversation entirely: his father's hairline. Hair loss gets discussed as fate, something to accept, rarely something to diagnose. There is also a deeply rooted belief that hair loss is something that cannot be managed, and acceptance is the only option left.

This year, Traya Health is offering a different script. Between June and August 2026, Traya assessed 166,460 Indian men and mapped their primary root causes state by state. Every man who comes to Traya can have multiple root causes contributing to his hair loss. This study captures the primary root cause identified per person. In Traya's experience, it is this primary cause that most often goes unexamined; men treat the hair, not the reason. Closing that gap is what this study is for.

Key findings

  • Dandruff (54.0%), Genetics (21.2%), and Nutrition (10.1%) emerged as the three leading primary root causes, together accounting for over 85% of all cases
  • Dandruff's intensity follows the climate, running above the 54% national average in humid, coastal states (Kerala highest at 65.3%) and below it in the dry northwest (Punjab lowest at 47.4%)
  • Nutrition-linked hair loss shows the mirror pattern peaking in the northern belt (Jammu & Kashmir, 13.0%) and lowest on the southern coast (Kerala, 5.0%), pointing, in Traya's reading, to regional diet and lifestyle differences
  • For over 23,000 men, hair loss traced to sleep, digestion, and metabolism -- evidence for the principle Traya was founded on hair loss is a symptom of deeper imbalances

Stock Market Today: Expert View By InvestorAi

The Thesis
India enters Monday with DII-led domestic support anchoring the Nifty 500 near 23,530 even as FIIs remain net sellers, building on ₹2,124 crore of institutional buying that held the market flat on Friday. The real story is the energy premium embedding in Brent at $93.88 - Iran's parliament advancing Strait of Hormuz fee legislation over the weekend raises the probability of a crude re-rate. InvestorAi's conviction cluster reads this as a domestic capex and commodity rotation trade, not broad-market risk appetite.

Where We're Concentrated
Conviction concentrates across three interlocking themes: industrial capital goods levered to India's domestic infrastructure cycle and insulated from import-cost inflation, private and PSU banking that benefits from the DII-driven market floor and a VIX holding below 12, and base metals and telecom positioned for the commodity upcycle and a spectrum-driven revenue revival. The thesis breaks if Brent clears $96 on a Hormuz escalation, flipping FII flows from cautious selling into active flight and forcing the RBI's hand on the rupee near 95.71.

Conviction Picks
Highest Conviction
Tube Investments of India
Domestic capex cycle plays outperform when DII flows hold the market floor and infrastructure order books stay full.
Kotak Mahindra Bank
Private banking gains when low volatility anchors rate expectations and domestic liquidity offsets foreign selling pressure.
Vodafone Idea
Tariff-hike cycle and spectrum rollout give this turnaround play valuation room while VIX stays below 12.
Vedanta
Elevated Brent and Gulf supply risk boost the base-metals and energy complex that Vedanta's diversified book directly captures.
Bank of Maharashtra
PSU banks with strong CASA ratios benefit when DII buying sustains the floor and rate-cut expectations slowly return to pricing.
One Thing to Watch
Brent above $96 Iran's parliament advancing Hormuz fee legislation is the weekend's unpriced risk - a passage or escalation would push crude beyond $96, triggering imported inflation and FII risk-off that unwind the domestic capex and banking thesis in one move.

Post Listing View: Lalithaa Jewellery Mart and Horizon Industrial Parks

Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart Ltd.

Lalithaa Jewellery Mart has delivered a strong debut, listing at around 32% premium to its IPO price, reflecting strong investor interest. The company remains attractively valued compared with organized peers like Kalyan Jewellers and Titan, while its ROE of over 41% indicates strong capital efficiency. However, the business remains inventory-heavy, with negative operating cash flow of around Rs 397.7 crore in FY26, and the Rs 1,066 crore GST dispute and promoter-related concerns remain key risks. After such a sharp listing gain, investors should avoid chasing the stock at higher levels. Our view is positive but cautious; existing investors can hold with a stop loss at Rs 245 on a closing basis. Fresh investors should wait for a meaningful dip before entering.

Horizon Industrial Parks has made a muted debut near its IPO price, but the long-term story remains positive. The company has 93.56% committed occupancy across 118 enterprise tenants, with 54.05% of leased space occupied by Fortune 500 companies, supporting stable rental income. Its asset-heavy leasing model also delivers strong profitability, with an FY26 EBITDA margin of 79.16%. The key positive is the planned debt reduction through IPO proceeds, which should improve cash generation and financial flexibility. At around 2.15x P/B, the valuation looks reasonable for long-term exposure to India's logistics growth. prefer accumulation on dips. A stop loss of Rs 55 on a closing basis can be maintained, while Rs 65-Rs 68 are the initial upside levels.

Crypto Update By Avinash Shekhar

Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42

"Bitcoin's move towards the $77,000 mark has strengthened sentiment across the crypto market, with Ethereum and XRP also participating in the broader rally. Institutional participation, ETF activity and expectations of greater regulatory clarity in the US continue to support the market. However, after such a sharp upward move, technical indicators across major assets are showing stretched conditions, which could lead to some consolidation before the next directional move. For Bitcoin, a sustained breakout above $80,000 could strengthen the case for a move towards higher levels, including the longer-term $100,000 milestone."

"Investors should remain disciplined rather than chase prices after a strong rally. Staggered entries, selective profit-booking and careful position sizing can help navigate periods of heightened volatility. The focus should now be on whether Bitcoin can hold its recent gains, whether trading volumes remain supportive and whether capital continues to broaden into assets such as Ethereum and XRP. These factors will offer a clearer indication of whether the current rally has enough strength to extend further."

Crypto Update By Harish Vatnani

Harish Vatnani, Head of Trade, ZebPay

"Bitcoin started the week with strong buying interest and broke through the key psychological resistance level of $67,000, maintaining strong bullish momentum and a sharp recovery from the $62,000 level. BTC reached a high of around $79,500, supported by strong institutional/ETF inflows and improving macro sentiment. After five consecutive gaining sessions, BTC is now showing signs of resistance and profit booking near the $80,000-$82,000 zone.
Last week, BTC witnessed approximately $2 billion in net ETF inflows and around $2.7 billion in short liquidations above the $70,000 level, which contributed to the strong rally in Bitcoin and encouraged other crypto assets to follow the broader upward momentum.
BTC is currently trading around $77,350 and has started showing some red candles after rallying more than 26% over the past week, indicating some profit booking and short-term consolidation at higher levels.
On Daily Chart, BTC price is trading above its Simple Moving Average (14 & 21 periods) levels of $68,222 & $67,089 indicating supportive for price.
On the daily chart, the RSI is at 78.99, indicating strong bullish momentum but also placing it firmly in the overbought zone. It will be important to watch whether the RSI can sustain above the 70 level, which would indicate continued momentum, while a decline below 70 could signal weakening buying pressure. The Stochastic Oscillator is at 86.33, also indicating overbought conditions and suggesting the possibility of short-term profit booking or consolidation before the next directional move. However, overbought readings can persist during strong uptrends and should therefore be assessed alongside price action.
Overall, market sentiment remains bullish for BTC as long as it holds above the $74K support level. A sustained move above the $80K-$82K resistance zone could further strengthen the bullish outlook, while a break below $74K may increase the risk of a deeper correction.

Above $84,480 possibility of hitting $88,665 levels."

Commodities Update By Akshat Siddhant

Akshat Siddhant, Lead quant analyst, Mudrex

Gold has climbed to around $4,580 an ounce, its highest level since mid-May, gaining roughly 5% this week. The rally followed the Treasury's unexpected increase in debt-buyback purchases, with Secretary Bessent signalling that further buybacks could follow, pushing bond yields and the dollar lower. Silver is tracking the move, reaching a two-month high and heading for its third straight weekly gain. On the other hand, Oil is consolidating below Thursday's one-month high as supply concerns ease. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said Strait of Hormuz flows rose to 9 million barrels a day, more than double expectations. Resistance for gold now stands at $4700, while support has moved to $4500.

15.7% of Brands Show High AI Visibility as AI Shapes Rakhi Gift Discovery

Artificial intelligence is emerging as a new discovery layer for festive shopping, changing how consumers discover, compare and decide what to buy. As Raksha Bandhan approaches, consumers increasingly turn to AI platforms for gift recommendations based on the recipient, budget and preferences.

According to SearchScore.AI by DareAISearch analysis of 3,190 submissions and 3,190 AI Visibility Reports shows an average AI Visibility Score of 29%, with only 15.7% of leads recording a high score above 50%. The data highlights the early stage of brand readiness for AI-led discovery, even as AI becomes increasingly relevant to shopping decisions.

Siddhartha Vanwani, Co-founder & CEO of DareAISearch, said, "Rakhi is a natural use case for AI-led shopping because consumers often begin with a need rather than a specific product. They tell AI who they are buying for, their budget and what the recipient likes, and increasingly expect a shortlist in return. For brands, the battleground is therefore moving beyond traditional search rankings to whether they are visible and recommendable within that shortlist."

Stock Market News: Expert View

Gaurav Udani, Founder - Thincredblu

Nifty is expected to open higher around 24,380, up nearly 100 points, indicating a positive start and a recovery from the recent weakness.

The index is now approaching an important resistance zone. 24,400-24,500 will be crucial to watch, and a sustained breakout above this range could trigger fresh buying and signal a stronger recovery.

On the downside, 24,200-24,250 will act as the immediate support zone. As long as Nifty holds above this range, the short-term bias remains positive.

Traders should avoid chasing the gap-up and wait for confirmation above 24,500. A decisive breakout could open the possibility of further upside, while failure to sustain the gains may lead to profit booking.

For now, the bias is cautiously bullish, with buy-on-dips preferred as long as key support levels hold.

Crypto Update By Riya Sehgal

Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst, Delta Exchange

The crypto rally has entered a consolidation phase after last week's vertical breakout.
Bitcoin is holding around $77K after testing the $79K-$80K region, while Ethereum is consolidating around $2,440 after briefly moving above $2,500.
Importantly, momentum has cooled significantly without a major price retracement. BTC's 4-hour RSI has fallen from above 90 to around 69, while ETH's has dropped from the mid-90s to around 66.
At the same time, Bitcoin implied volatility remains elevated, around 43.6 after rising sharply from the mid-30s. This suggests the extreme overbought conditions are being worked off through sideways consolidation, although options markets continue to price elevated volatility.
For BTC, $75.5K-$76K is the key short-term support, while $79K followed by $81.5K-$82K are the major upside levels.
For ETH, $2,385-$2,400 is the important support region, with $2,480-$2,520 remaining the immediate resistance zone.
Overall, the trend remains bullish, but the market is now digesting a very fast move. The next major signal will be whether BTC can decisively break and hold above the $80K-$82K region while institutional demand continues absorbing profit-taking from existing holders.

Crypto Update By Nischal Shetty

Nischal Shetty, Founder, WazirX

"Crypto markets are entering a macro-sensitive phase, with central-bank communication and long-term bond yields likely to determine near-term direction. The Jackson Hole symposium this week is the next key decisive event. A hawkish message indicating persistent inflation or the need to keep rates elevated could push Treasury yields higher, strengthen the dollar, and reduce demand for risk on assets like crypto. According to analysts, the most constructive scenario for crypto is stable or declining long-term yields and continued technology investment.

Asian markets started mixed, with losses concentrated in Hong Kong and South Korea. The Hang Seng fell 1.51% to 25,616.42, while the KOSPI declined 1.62% to 6,800.70. Shanghai eased 0.12%. In contrast, Japan's Nikkei 225 edged up 0.09% to 66,076.20 after a volatile session, and Singapore gained 0.33%.

Bitcoin is trading at approximately $76,930 after gaining 22.02% over the last week, and a 0.95% dip over the last 24 hours. Based on the displayed price and nearby psychological levels, immediate support lies around 76,000-76,500. If that zone fails to hold, the next support areas are approximately 75,000-75,500 and $74,000. Immediate resistance sits around 77,000-78,000.

Ethereum is trading near $2,429 after a strong 28.54% weekly gain, and a 1.46% decline over the last 24 hours. According to analysts, futures traders could watch 2400-2420 as immediate support, followed by $2,350 and $2,380. Resistance sits at $2,450 and $2,500, with $2,550-$2,600 next if momentum holds.

Selling pressure was sharper among altcoins in the last 24 hours. XRP lost 1.95%, Dogecoin dropped 1.55%, and Cardano underperformed with a 2.45% fall. The overall market price movement signals a cautious sentiment, with investors not going big on risk exposure, and holding a more defensive market stance."

Crypto Update By CoinSwitch Markets Desk

BTC delivered its strongest weekly performance in more than three years, gaining roughly 23% to trade above $78K. The key catalyst was the U.S. Treasury's plan to at least double purchases of long-term government bonds, which helped ease pressure in the bond market and weakened the dollar. That revived the "debasement trade," where investors move toward scarce assets such as Bitcoin and gold as protection against currency weakness. The rally was further supported by short covering, improving liquidity expectations, regulatory optimism, and strength across ETH, SOL and XRP. $79.5K-$80K is now the key resistance zone.

Crypto Update By Mudrex

Prateek Gupta, Head of Business, Mudrex

Bitcoin is holding near $77,000 despite volatility from thin weekend liquidity. The rally, initially driven by a forced short squeeze, is now seeing stronger support from genuine ETF demand, with Bitcoin and Ether ETFs attracting $2.6 billion this week, with BTC gaining over 26%. Historically, Bitcoin has ended higher more than 70% of the time over the following 30-180 days after similarly sharp rallies. However, a key risk is emerging from Japan, where the 10-year bond yield has reached its highest level since September 1996. A similar setup in August 2024 preceded Bitcoin's fall from $64,600 to $49,000 within days. Bitcoin needs to clear $80,000 to strengthen the momentum, while $73,500 is the key support.

Stock Market Today: Expert View

Rajesh Palviya, Head of Research, Axis Direct

The Nifty 50 ended Friday at 24,252, gaining 20 points in a largely flat session, though the underlying tone remained cautious. India VIX rose 4.1% to 11.20, while the benchmark recorded its second consecutive weekly decline. Banking stocks provided some support, with the Nifty Bank rising 0.46% to 57,762, whereas IT stocks remained under pressure as elevated global bond yields weighed on rate-sensitive valuations.

Global cues were relatively supportive, with Wall Street ending higher. The Dow gained 0.98%, led by healthcare stocks, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq advanced 0.43% each after US business activity expanded at its fastest pace in more than four years. Asian markets, however, opened on a softer note, with the Nikkei down 0.2% and the Kospi declining 1.5%.

The key positive for Indian equities is the recent moderation in crude prices. Brent crude has eased around 3% to $91.4 a barrel, retreating from its two-week run towards $95, offering some relief to an oil-importing economy like India. Gold remains elevated near $4,680, reflecting persistent fiscal and geopolitical concerns. Meanwhile, GIFT Nifty near 24,330 indicates a positive opening bias of around 75 points.

Technically, the Nifty's undertone remains subdued below the 24,400 mark, although softer crude prices could provide a cushion to the market. Immediate support is placed at 24,150, below which the index could slip towards 24,000. On the upside, a sustained move above 24,400 could trigger a recovery towards 24,600. Any renewed spike in crude oil prices remains the key risk to the market outlook.

Market Review By Vikram Subburaj

Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com

Bitcoin traded near $77,200 on Monday morning, broadly unchanged over 24 hours, after ranging between approximately $75,625 and $78,037. The market is consolidating after last week's sharp breakout rather than extending the rally immediately. Immediate support lies around 75,500-76,000, followed by 72,000-73,000, while resistance is near $78,000 and the stronger psychological barrier at $80,000.

The underlying structure has nevertheless improved. Bitcoin is now comfortably above the roughly $68,700 Short-Term Holder Cost Basis, which had repeatedly acted as resistance during the previous consolidation. The Median Realised Price remains near $63,000. Holding above the recent-buyer cost basis suggests considerably less pressure from investors looking to exit at breakeven. However, spot participation will need to remain healthy to sustain the move.

Institutional demand has strengthened considerably. US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted about $1.92 billion across five consecutive sessions from August 17-21. This includes $517.2 million on August 19, $606.3 million on August 20 and $307.5 million on August 21.

Altcoins are taking a breather after last week's gains. Ethereum traded near $2,440 ( 0.7%), BNB at $698 (-0.2%), XRP around $1.48 (-1.3%). Solana at $94.24 (-1.9%) and TRON near $0.343 (-0.6%).

Macro now presents the biggest near-term test. Interest-rate futures imply roughly a 40% probability of a 25-basis-point Fed rate hike in September. However, a Reuters poll found that 94 of 104 economists expect rates to remain unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%. July PCE inflation arrives on August 26, followed by Jackson Hole on August 27-29 and the Fed meeting on September 15-16.

Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing last week's surge. Staggered entries and disciplined position sizing remain preferable, with 75,500-76,000 the immediate zone to watch for signs that Bitcoin can sustain its new range.
