Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has introduced Petrol and Twin-Cylinder CNG variants of its Xpres Tigor taxi sedan, expanding the fleet portfolio. Previously available only as an electric sedan, the Xpres range now includes internal combustion engine (ICE) options, supporting Tata's multi-powertrain approach for fleet operators.

The Xpres Petrol launches at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CNG variant starts at Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices position them as competitively priced options among fleet sedans in their categories.

Both models use Tata's 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine paired with a manual transmission. The unit puts out 86 hp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The power figures for the CNG kit have not been revealed yet. These units are built for high-usage commercial applications, with design priorities on durability, reliability, and low operating costs, essential for fleet owners managing daily operations.

The petrol version provides a boot capacity of 419 litres. The boot space for the CNG variant hasn't been disclosed, but it comes equipped with twin cylinders that have a 70-litre water capacity; this configuration occupies less boot space than a single large CNG tank.

Similar to the Xpres-T EV, the ICE-powered Xpres is mounted on 14-inch steel wheels, although they feature black covers rather than silver ones. In terms of interior design, the Xpres has a dual-tone cabin unlike the all-black interior of the EV, but it does not include an audio system, which is available in the electric model.

This launch follows similar fleet-focused initiatives by competitors such as Hyundai, Toyota, and Maruti Suzuki, which have introduced dedicated commercial vehicles. The addition of Petrol and CNG variants broadens XPRES accessibility beyond electric models, catering to operators preferring traditional fuels amid varying infrastructure availability. Availability details and full specifications will be shared through Tata's fleet dealership network.
