The Mahindra Bolero is long due for an update. The Indian UV giant, rechristened the TUV300 as the Bolero Neo, but that's a full-blown effort. Therefore, the company is now developing an all-new platform and model of the Mahindra Bolero. The SUV has been spied on test a few times. Continuing the current suit, the new-gen Bolero will continue as sub-4m SUV. However, the spy shots suggest some new crisp details about it.
New-Gen Mahindra Bolero - Independent Rear Suspension
Design-wise, the new Bolero gets a straight roofline and a clean window design. The silhouette of the test mule reminds of the Land Rover Defender 110. Features like squared wheel arches, flush door handles, and upright pillars give it a sturdy look. Round headlights and a horizontal grille with vertical slats help maintain its rugged appearance while giving it a modern touch.

A key upgrade is the new independent rear suspension (IRS), replacing the old solid rear axle. This feature allows each rear wheel to move independently, resulting in a smoother ride and better handling.
Reports suggest that the new Bolero will be built on a monocoque platform with front-wheel drive, moving away from the traditional ladder frame and rear-wheel drive. This change will improve performance, reduce weight, and enhance fuel efficiency while allowing for IRS on both axles.
The SUV is expected to use Mahindra's reliable 1.5-liter mHawk diesel engine, producing about 98.64 hp and 260 Nm of torque, with options for manual or automatic transmission. While the interior will likely feature basic components, images suggest it may include flush door handles, up to 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, and possibly advanced features like lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
