At the Chinese Grand Prix this year, Antonelli claimed his first-ever victory, also securing pole position to become the youngest driver in Formula One history to do so. He led a Mercedes 1-2, finishing 5.5 seconds ahead of George Russell. Wolff described it as the best moment of his Formula One career.
At the iconic Suzuka Circuit in Japan, Antonelli followed it up with another victory, his second consecutive win. What made it especially impressive was the way he fought back strategically after losing positions at the start. A well-timed pit stop allowed him to regain control of the race, and he also recorded the fastest lap - 1:32.432, proving his dominance was built on both pace and race craft. At circuits like Suzuka, setting the fastest lap requires absolute precision, confidence, and tyre management.
