The conversion project has been undertaken by Sai Fuel, a CNG kit specialist based in Vadodara, Gujarat. Their demonstration videos showcase the process of adapting a Sierra Adventure Plus variant, which is powered by Tata's 1.5-litre Revotron petrol engine. This naturally aspirated unit produces 106 hp and 145 Nm of torque and is paired with a manual transmission.
One of the most notable aspects of the conversion is the reported improvement in fuel efficiency. The standard petrol-powered Sierra delivers around 18 kmpl, while the CNG-equipped version is said to achieve close to 28 km per kg of CNG on highways. This makes the SUV more economical to run and potentially cleaner in terms of emissions, appealing to buyers who are considering greener alternatives.

For the installation, Sai Fuel opted for a EuropeGAS injection controller, citing compatibility with the engine. The team emphasized that the kit was installed using proper connectors and sockets, with no wires cut during the process. To manage the dual-fuel setup, two separate Engine Control Modules (ECMs) were fitted, allowing the system to switch seamlessly between petrol and CNG.
