BJP comes up with its version of 'Kolaveri di' for Goa poll campaign
Panaji: BJP has come up with its version of the hugely-popular song 'Kolaveri di' for its poll campaign in Goa.

Vishnu Wagh, veteran poet who recently joined the BJP, has penned the lyrics which have been fitted in the 'Kolaveri di' tune. The song has been changed from 'Kolaveri di' to 'Kamlawari di' to include the party's election symbol lotus.

"During campaigning, the aim is to reach out to maximum people. Popular songs or folk songs are best way to reach to the masses," he said.

The pronunciation of 'Kolaveri di' was close to 'Kamlawari di'. That's why we used this song," he said.

BJP has started campaigning for the March 3 polls with its Jana Sampark Abhiyan hitting the rural parts of Goa. The party's star campaigner and former chief minister Manohar
Parrikar is leading the campaign.

The song is being played during the campaign and people have started liking it, Wagh said.

The poet said their version song does not violate the Copyright Act since its lyrics are different though the tune is the same.

'Kolaveri di', written and sung by Tamil actor Dhanush, has been composed by music director Anirudh Ravichander. Several versions of the song, released in November last year,
are available now.
