Dissent 'disallowed': Ad criticising Mamata govt not allowed on billboards

An online petition following the Kamduni rape case in West Bengal gathered more than 17,000 signatures and translated into an advertisement which urged the government to address the growing incidents of crime against women. The ad was, however, not allowed to be put on billboards in the state and several dailies also refused to publish it. Despite various attempts, no one from the state government was willing to comment on this. Has stemming voices of non-violent dissent become a worrying trend in Didi's land? We discuss.
