Kolkata locals make do without garnishing

The garnish is going out of Bengali cuisine. Like tomatoes from the north Indian platter, dhonepata and lanka - or coriander and chilli - are disappearing from Kolkata kitchens as prices go through the chimney. Coriander is Rs 120 a kilo, chilli, Rs 40. But not all are complaining, certainly not those who have just moved to Kolkata from Delhi.
