United in their poverty, 150,000 unemployed villagers of Jharkhand won against government officials in a public hearing on the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The jobs cost a murder of an activist, Lalit Mehta, who mobilised thousands of villagers to shake the government into action last week.
