The Comptroller and Auditor General, Vinod Rai, has said that the Right to Information Act has proved to be a very effective tool in improving transparency in government functioning. Speaking at the World Economic forum in Delhi, Mr Rai said that RTI has succeeded in making politicians and bureaucrats more accountable and reduced 'brazen' policy decisions that were once taken by the government.
