WB govt inks deal with Salim group

The West Bengal government has signed a deal for the state's largest infrastructure project with Indonesian business mogul Benny Santoso. As part of the deal, the state will get about $4.5 billion as investment from the Salim group, which in turn will get rights to over 38,000 acres of land. The group will also build new expressways, flyovers, bridges, townships and economic zones as well as a new deep sea port.
