The battle between Kamal Nath and the Reserve Bank continues and now bullets are flying over whether loans to special economic zones (SEZs) should be classified as infrastructure or real estate. The RBI had classified SEZ loans as real estate lending pushing up costs. However, the government is pitching for infrastructure status this time and tom-tomming the virtues of SEZs.
