Woman trouble for Woods?

The controversial car crash outside his Orlando-area mansion has put focus on the personal life of otherwise a private Tiger Woods, who allegedly has an affair with a New York night club hostess.

And now the ace golfer has seeked an apology for the same in a statement on his website, confessing he has not been true to his values and the behavior his family deserves.

Woods was injured last Friday when he lost control of his 2009 black Cadillac Escalade outside his Florida mansion. Woods will face no criminal charges for crashing but the world's number one golfer has been issued with a careless driving citation. Woods must also pay a 164-dollar fine and will lose four points from his license - one third of the total needed in a year to be suspended - but the Florida Highway Patrol investigation into Friday's crash has now been closed.

The case might stand closed for the police but rumours are rife that the crash happened after Woods had an argument with his wife, Elin Nordegren, over an alleged affair with New York night club hostess Rachel Uchitel. (AP Photo)

Uchitel, the daughter of a Palm Beach socialite, has vehemently denied having an affair with Woods. But if reports are to be believed, she has hired a lawyer to take care of the matter. (AP Photo)

Tiger, too, denied such rumours. "Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible," he said. (AP Photo)

Woods blamed himself for the accident. "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me," Woods said on his Web site. "I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again." (AFP Photo)

Woods also praised his wife, Elin, for acting courageously and helping him out. "My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false," Woods said. (AP Photo)

And while Tiger has been trying to sweep truth under the carpet, another woman, Jamiee Grubbs has supposedly surfaced, claiming she had a 31-month affair with the golfer.

Grubbs, a cocktail waitress, told US Weekly that she met Woods in Las Vegas in April, 2007. According to the magazine, Grubbs had 20 sexual encounters with Tiger and the lady has more than 300 text messages and a voicemail from him to prove her claims. (AP Photo)

While we wait for the true story to come to the fore, the accident has certainly left Woods' fans disappointed as he has pulled out of the Chevron World Challenge, a tournament he has hosted for past nine years. (AP Photo)
