Nagpur Test, Day 4: England near series win as India disappoint
Skipper MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli's batting efforts came undone with some shocking moves by the Indian think tank as England progressed towards a series victory. The match looks to be coming to a dull draw with England 161/3 and leading India by 165 on what looks like an increasingly flat wicket.

It never looked as Team India would 'force' for a victory from the start. R Ashwin and the tail-enders added 29 runs in 62 crucial minutes as England sat back and enjoyed. The visitors could not have been happier but never did Indian dressing room look sad either. For a team looking for a win to save their face, this was shocking to say the least. (Photo credit: BCCI)

England's batting started on an extremely slow note with Alastair Cook and Nick Compton in no hurry at all, and why would they be. It was India who had everything to play for. England were 25/0 after 22 overs. R Ashwin broke the stand albeit luckily getting Cook caught behind but replays proved that it never touched the bat. England skipper unlucky again. India did get Nick Compton in a strange dismissal again. Ball hit his inside edge but umpire Rod Tucker gave it out lbw. He would anyway have been out since Kohli took the catch too. He though had already consumed 135 balls for his solid 34. Meanwhile, Jonathan Trott had other ideas and he stuck around to complete another Test fifty ending the day 66* off 153 balls. India frustration was evident on the field with misfielding, loose bowling and shoddy captaincy. Trott too had his moments of madness - once he hit a Jadeja ball that had slipped and bounced multiple times for a boundary, another time he was drifting out of his crease at the non-striker's end and Ashwin spotted it.
Trott also had a verbal duel with Virat Kohli and the latter seemed to be at fault there with nothing going right for India when Dharmasena gave the former not-out. Home side had only themselves to blame though as they lacked intensity. (Photo credit: BCCI)
