England skipper Alastair Cook (17) managed to get a start for himself. He hit a couple of boundaries but was also the first to be dismissed. He fell to Shami Ahmed (unseen). (BCCI image)
Kevin Pietersen (17) looked his solid best and was unfortunate to have been declared out to Ishant Sharma. The ball flew of his pad but the umpire thought it had a bit of his bat too before reaching Dhoni behind the stumps. (BCCI image)
With this dismissal of Ian Bell (25), who was claimed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (unseen), England's innings began to look like it could come apart at the seams. (BCCI image)
Young Joe Root managed to help himself to 39 carefully constructed runs but wickets continued to tumble at the other end. He himself fell eventually, to Ishant. (BCCI image)
While the pacers were having fun, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin (unseen) too made the most of England's plight. While Ashwin took 2, Jadeja managed to help himself to three wickets. The visitors were bundled out on 155. (BCCI image)
In reply, Ajinkya Rahane fell in the third over. Though he failed to open his account, the innings was taken over by Guatam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. (BCCI image)
Both Gambhir and Kohli ensured that England continued to struggle. Gambhir fell on 33 as the match progressed but the hosts remain on track. (BCCI image)
The loudest cheer though was for MS Dhoni who came to the middle with just 12 left to get. He managed two boundaries to seal a memorable match at home.
