After humiliating defeat in 2010 assembly elections, this year has been a good year for Lalu with three of his daughters getting married and return of his wife Rabri Devi as member of Bihar Legislative Council. One of his younger sons Tej Pratap also opened his automobile shop in Aurangabad.

Mr Yadav, however, said he doesn't want to celebrate his birthday as he is very disturbed by the deaths of children due to encephalitis in north Bihar. Mr Yadav also said that he tried to speak to Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad but was informed that the minister is abroad.
