  • After humiliating defeat in 2010 assembly elections, this year has been a good year for Lalu with three of his daughters getting married and return of his wife Rabri Devi as member of Bihar Legislative Council. One of his younger sons Tej Pratap also opened his automobile shop in Aurangabad.
  • After a long time, Lalu and his family decided to be in Patna for his birthday. And his party workers left no stone unturned to make the occasion a grand event.
  • His official residence was decorated with flowers, and workers were treated with jalebis and cold water in plenty - a great relief when Patna temperature has already crossed 43 degrees Celsius.
  • Mr Yadav, however, said he doesn't want to celebrate his birthday as he is very disturbed by the deaths of children due to encephalitis in north Bihar. Mr Yadav also said that he tried to speak to Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad but was informed that the minister is abroad.
  • And he also took a dig at his political rivals, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi. Mr Yadav asked Nitish to react to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's statement that states like Bihar suffered due to caste politics.
