Images Of The Emirates Plane That Burst Into Flames In Dubai

The Emirates jumbo jet crash landed in Dubai, after an apparent engine explosion, and lost most of its top section to fire.

Emirates officials said the accident resulted in a four-hour network-wide delay for the airline's operations.

Flight EK 521 had 295 passengers on board, including 226 Indians.

All passengers and crew were evacuated safely through emergency exits of the plane before the fire spread.

The plane landed on its tail at the Dubai International Airport around 12.45 pm.

The aircraft involved in the accident was delivered in March 2003.

Experts termed it as the worst incident Emirates suffered in its 30-year history.
