Pak Summons Afghan Envoy Over Cross-Border Attacks

Islamabad: Pakistan on Monday summoned Afghanistan's ambassador to Islamabad to convey its concerns over attacks from across the border.

The issue of terrorist concentrations on the Afghan side across Mohmand and Bajaur agencies was once again taken up with the ambassador, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said.

"It was stressed that credible action should be taken by the Afghan Government to prevent the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan," said the spokesperson.

Pakistan last week faced several attacks from home-grown militants allegedly hiding in Afghanistan.

The demarche came after Afghanistan on Sunday blamed a Pakistan based militant outfit for an attack last week on its presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah.
