California, US: Authorities say a wildfire has burned at least two structures and 200 acres of brush in Riverside County near Vail Lake, and about 30 rural homes have been evacuated.

County fire Captain Fernando Herrera says the fire started at about 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Cleveland National Forest in the Temecula area, where the temperature is in the mid-90s. He says at least two buildings burned but it was not immediately clear whether they were homes.

Herrera says the fire could also be approaching recreation spots and a resort at the lake.

The evacuated homes are along Highway 79, and an evacuation center has opened at Great Oak High School in Temecula.
