China welcomes foreign pandas

Beijing: These foreign pandas from around the world have reason to rejoice.

China has made a new home for these creatures in the Bifengxia Panda Base in Sichuan Province.

The "Foreign Pandas' Paradise" was officially opened on Friday with a grand ceremony.

Present at the function were the Staff of the Panda base holding 16 baby pandas born in 2010.

Five pandas from the US and one Austrian-born panda, moved into their brand new home.

Their residence covers an area of more than 16 acres, intended to help pandas born in foreign countries adapt to living conditions in China.

Keepers will now work on making the animals get used to Chinese food and the language.
