Uploading, sharing and commenting on any online content involving ISIS has been made punishable offence.
Following the release on social media of an ISIS video where three Bangla-speaking men are seen threatening more terror attacks in the country, Bangladesh police has warned of stern action against those sharing or clicking 'Like' of any such content.
Police spokesman AKM Shahidur Rahman in a statement issued a formal warning, reported Xinhua news agency.
"Uploading, sharing, liking and commenting on any video, photo and news involving Islamic State or militancy are punishable offences under the law," he said in the statement.
On Thursday, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged young men who have chosen terrorism in the name of Islam to return to normal life. "This is not the way of Islam," she said in an Eid message, and asked parents and educational institutions to inform the law enforcing agencies about their children or students, to prevent them from going astray, reported the bdnews24.com.
She said, "Terrorism will never be tolerated in Bangladesh. The government will do everything to establish peace."
Ms Hasina also asked the parents who have lost their children to cooperate with police in finding the missing youth by providing them with photos and necessary information and not just sit back by filing a General Diary missing complaint.
Most of the seven young Gulshan cafe attackers had gone missing several months ago.
One of the three men featured in the video has been missing too.
Extremist threat monitoring portal, SITE Intelligence Group, released the video on Wednesday night which is believed to be recorded in the Syrian city of Raqqa a day after the barbarous Gulshan cafe attack on July 1 in which 22 people including 17 foreigners and two police officers were killed.
The video is the latest since seven young terrorists in their mid-20s, mostly from affluent families, laid siege to the Holey Artisan Bakery and O' Kitchen Restaurant and slaughtered 20 hostages.
In the ISIS video the terror suspects threatened to repeat what happened last Friday at Dhaka and sought public favor in support of their so-called 'jihad' in Bangladesh.
Parents of 10 youths, also missing for the past several months, approached the police on Wednesday to find their children.
Sheikh Hasina assured the government would give every support, including the dissemination of information through all forms of media outlets, to help parents to trace their missing children and bring them home.
A few hours before Ms Hasina urged the masses, Bangladesh was on Thursday the target of another terror attack aimed at a police contingent guarding an Eid congregation at the Sholakia Ground in Kishoreganj district during prayers. Four persons were killed and over a dozen injured.
She also urged people to form anti-terror committees at district, Upazila, and union levels.
"We are always beside you. Let us know who are linked to the militants," said Ms Hasina.
Referring to the attacks, Hasina said, "They have killed people instead of offering their prayers at the time for prayers. How can this be a way to protect Islam?"
"... those who carry out such heinous crimes, don't believe in Islam in reality. They are the enemies of Islam. Steps must be taken against such people who are involved in false preaching and pushing the youths towards death and hell," said Ms Hasina.
