Will Vijay's MGR Pitch 'Hurt' AIADMK?

At his party's second conference, Madurai Maanadu, actor-turned-politician Vijay made a bold declaration: "The lion is here to hunt and he will hunt alone."

He announced that his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), would contest all 234 seats in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Vijay ruled out any alliance with DMK or BJP, calling DMK his political enemy and BJP his ideological enemy. He said, "TVK is not a party that makes underground deals or cheats the people. We are not afraid of anyone."

He also criticized the NEET exam, challenged Prime Minister Modi to revoke it, and demanded action on the Katchatheevu issue to protect Tamil Nadu fishermen2, also spoke about Keezhadi findings being undermined by the centre.

Vijay's speech was fiery, emotional, and full of symbolism. But his opponents have hit back. DMK Minister K N Nehru, said the actor has displayed low political standards.
