Omani national Hamam Al Hammami, accused of attacking Captain Smit Machchhar and attempting to seize control of the flydubai flight, is now at the centre of a deeper security probe. Sources say he had previously been flagged as a security risk, with extremist material allegedly found in his possession in 2024. Investigators are now examining how he returned to flying and ended up in the cockpit of an Israel-bound flight.
