Flydubai Probe Deepens: Attacker Co-Pilot Was 'Barred' To Fly In Oman, Raising Security Question

Fresh questions are being raised about aviation security and pilot vetting after reports emerged that the Flydubai co-pilot involved in the cockpit incident had previously been barred from flying in Oman over concerns about alleged extremist views. The pilot was later hired by UAE-based airline Flydubai, a development that is now drawing scrutiny as investigators examine the sequence of events leading up to the mid-air emergency. The incident involved Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which was carrying 182 people when an altercation reportedly occurred inside the cockpit. The aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with Captain Smit Machchhar sustaining injuries during the confrontation while successfully bringing the aircraft down safely. #Flydubai #CaptainSmit #AviationSecurity #FlightSafety #CockpitCrisis #PilotScreening #AviationNews #EmergencyLanding #AirlineSecurity #BreakingNews #WorldNews #FlightFZ1073 #UAE #Aviation #Trending About NDTV (English news channel): NDTV is India's Most-Trusted News Broadcaster with the latest updates in news, sports, entertainment and much more from within India and around the world.
