On Monday, the President of India will address a joint session of the Parliament. Much has been said and written about BJP's absolute majority in this Lok Sabha election, which was a first for any party since 1984 but what about the opposition? In the last few years most Parliament sessions or attempts to discuss or pass important legislation have been disrupted, but that has also been the hallmark of a strong opposition. So is it going to be a double edged sword now? How good or bad is a weak opposition for democracy?
