Vijay Launches 22-Carat Gold Ring Scheme For Babies Born In Government Hospitals

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay launched the 'Thaimaaman Thanga Modhiram' scheme in Madurai, distributing one-gram, 22-carat gold rings to eligible newborns delivered at government hospitals. The first phase covers 1.28 lakh rings for babies born from June 22. The government says the scheme aims to encourage deliveries at state-run hospitals. Meanwhile, DMK leader and Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has criticised the Vijay government over alleged unfulfilled poll promises and law-and-order concerns.
