Speaking about the political atmosphere ahead of the BMC polls, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Arvind Sawant said he kept his word by attending the event despite election pressures, adding that true Shiv Sena culture is honoring commitments. Sawant criticised those who, he said, promote their own families while accusing others of "family politics." Emphasising that democracy means accepting disagreements without branding people anti‑national, he expressed anguish over individuals like Wangchu remaining in jail without bail. Sawant added that in such a tense political environment, seeing two Thackeray brothers reunite after twenty years brings rare joy.
