Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor backed the Opposition's "March for Democracy", calling it a defence of democratic rights and electoral integrity. Arguing that concerns over the Election Commission and the SIR process go beyond party politics, Tharoor said the Opposition's battle is about protecting every citizen's right to vote and ensuring a free, fair and level electoral playing field.
