UAE Backs India's Transparent AI Push At Delhi Summit

At the AI summit in New Delhi, UAE AI Minister, Omar Sultan Al Olama said that the future workforce in the age of artificial intelligence will benefit more from being generalists rather than narrow specialists. He noted that while AI performs exceptionally well in structured, process-driven and domain-specific tasks, it struggles to combine knowledge across multiple disciplines — creating opportunities for individuals who can think and work across fields. He described this as the potential "return of the polymath."

Al Olama also praised Narendra Modi for positioning India as a leader in transparent, trustworthy and open-source AI. He said India's approach could serve as a model for the Global South and emphasized that the United Arab Emirates supports a collaborative and open global dialogue on AI governance and innovation.
