A recently issued notification by the Delhi government made it compulsory for 298 private schools built on DDA land to give preference to students living in a 1-km radius for nursery admissions. However, when schools took the matter the Delhi High Court, this notification was stayed and the tug-of-war continued till the Delhi government appealed the interim stay which was then finally dismissed by the High Court on February 27. Now, the admissions will continue as usual. Caught in the middle of this back-and-forth were other stakeholders such as students, parents and administrators. On this episode of Heads Up, we demystify nursery admissions and find out what parents and administrators have to say about it.
