फिल्म बेगम जान की कहानी है हिन्दुस्तान और पाकिस्तान के बंटवारे के वक्त की. जहां सीमा के बीचोंबीच एक कोठा आ जाता है. इस कोठो को तोड़ने के आदेश आ जाते हैं. कोठो की मालकिन है बेगम जान, जो इसे तोड़ना नहीं चाहती. बेगम जान की भूमिका निभा रही हैं विद्या बालन और इसके निर्देशक हैं श्रीजीत मुखर्जी.
