The CEO of the Kochi group Satyajit Gaikwad said they had asked for 10 days and got 30. "We are very grateful for the extension and we hope to tie up at the earliest," said Gaikwad to NDTV.
BCCI President Shashank Manohar says that the group has to prove its infighting has ended. When asked why two other teams that were dropped - Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab were not given a similar 30-day notice period - he said Kochi's case "is different".
Speaking to NDTV, Sunil Gavaskar has said that whether he heads cricket operations at Kochi depends largely on whether the group is able to settle its differences. He also denied that he has any stake in the company.
The Bombay High Court has adjourned the hearing of Rajasthan Royals' petition against BCCI's decision to expel the team from the Indian Premier League till October 29.
